Does Your Star Projector Use an Arc Lamp?

Ash Enterprises International, Inc. launched a revolutionary new LED star lamp replacement for Spitz star projectors at the annual meeting of the Great Lakes Planetarium Association in Flint, Michigan on October 19. This new light source is designed to be a drop-in replacement for the original Spitz arc lamp. It provides a much longer life span, brighter stars, a more even illumination of the sky and vastly improved safety compared to the original lamp. Conference attendees who saw the side-by-side demonstration of the new LED lamp agreed that it was a great improvement over the standard arc lamp. The LED system that was demonstrated in Flint was a prototype of the unit to be sold. Cost information should be available by the end of the year. Delivery is expected to begin by about March 1.
